Product Description

Details

Redesigned from inside-out, the new Cardette Ultra is a huge step up from its popular predecessor both in terms of looks and function.  Its sleek aluminum exterior complements the new line of iMac and MacBooks exquisitely.  Furthermore, it is equipped with the most advanced memory controller IC compatible with next generation high speed/high capacity memory cards.  Unlike other generic card readers, Cardette Ultra supports all existing memory card standards with just 3 slots; making it easy to identify the correct slot for your memory card.

Cardette Ultra conveniently links to your Mac/PC via USB 2.0 and draws power directly from it, so there are no external power adapters required.  It also comes integrated with two USB 2.0 ports so that you actually gain one extra USB port while plugged in.

Cardette Ultra is one of the very few future-proof card readers available today supporting the following memory card formats: all series of CompactFlash (CF) and all series of Memory Stick (MS,MS Duo, MS PRO Duo), M2, MultiMediaCard (MMC),SecureDigital (SD), micro SD / TF, eXtremeDigital (xD-Picture), and SecureDigital High Capacity (SDHC), SDXC.
*Adapter required for miniSD.

Instructions/FAQ

1. Plug Cardette into any unused USB port (USB 2.0 preferred for faster transfer rate) on your computer. For USB ports that are not easily accessible, an extension cord is included for your convenience.

2. Rule of thumb during card insertion: in almost all cases, insert the card with the labeling sticker facing upright and metal contacts facing down.

3. If you feel resistance inserting card at the slot entrance, most likely you've inserted the wrong card type or the card is in the wrong orientation. Never use excessive force inserting the memory card, doing so could damage both Cardette and the memory card.

4. After successful memory card installation, your computer should recognize it almost immediately (either as a pop-up drive icon in Mac OSX or as a removable storage drive in Windows).

5. The integrated USB 2.0 hub can supply up to 300 mA of power, which is sufficient for powering most USB peripherals such as flash drives, MP3 players, mice, keyboards and PC cameras. Separate power may be required for devices such as external hard drives or DVD drives when attached to Cardette.

Customer Reviews

  1. Great Design Review by fotografk
    Overall

I went online to order another_I am a professional photographer and I teach photography in a High School. I was interested in getting another _one for the studio and one for the classroom. I have been using card readers for many years and always hated that there was an external cord that needed to go from the card reader to the computer_I always thought it would be great if the cord were attached_Moshi did it with the Cardette Ultra. This is a fast card reader and a great design with the sliding bottom to reveal the cord. (Posted on 10/24/12)

  2. The product is perfect Review by Jerry -Whiskey Brook Hunt Club
    Overall

I bought the SDXC for use w/ my MacBook Air
to down load pic's from my game camera. It works beautifully. Could not be simpler to use. W/O the SDXC I would have to have up graded to the next level of MacBook Air. Took a $35.00 gamble and won. If I can use it anyone w/ a Mac can. (Posted on 10/3/12)

  3. Awesome Review by Jay
    Overall

As a poor college student I can't afford to buy a new macbook pro with more ports like usb and one that has a sd card reader, so I picked this up at the apple store to format/read my memory cards for my photography, and it also allowed me to leave all my accessories plugged in rather than swapping them out all the time.

@ Jerry, WHAT DO YOU MEAN NOT EASY?! (Posted on 5/28/12)

  4. Great Size and Many Features Review by trevor
    Overall

This is the best USB 2 card reader I could find. Integrated cable, small, USB hub, SDXC, CF, and much more.
Also, on the pull out tab, it shows what card goes into which port. (Posted on 5/22/12)

  5. not easy Review by jerry
    Overall

i could not determine where to insert card and there were no illustration of what its parts were to be used for. (Posted on 2/27/12)
