After buying a another cable and spending hours searching forums trying to figure out how to properly configure my MBP to pass audio, I was beyond frustrated. I wasn't sure whether it was something was doing wrong or whether it was the cable. Well, it turned out to be the cable! I returned it for this one and it works like a charm. The video and audio quality are both fantastic, and the aluminum makes the cable look and feel of high quality.
